It can happen, even with some frequency, to realize that we can no longer display correctly the characters written in a book, in a newspaper, or in messages on our smartphones. Suddenly, vision starts to become increasingly blurry, the first dizziness begins, and in the worst cases a widespread feeling of nausea may even emerge. The condition we are talking about, which is much more common than you might think, is presbyopia. Unfortunately, there is no way to avoid suffering from this disorder altogether, since it is concretely a condition that arises with age and with the passing of the years and is caused by a gradual (and inexorable) stiffening of the crystalline lens, which is the inner lens of the eye that allows us to focus in the correct way on images. Symptoms are typical and thus refer to great difficulty in reading close text, eye fatigue while reading or using devices such as tablets and smartphones, and difficulty focusing up close after looking at distant objects (and vice versa).

Once you pass the age of 40, therefore, it must be (almost) taken for granted that you will progressively have problems in reading. But then all is lost? Of course not! There are several possible solutions available to us on the market, fortunately. Let’s see which ones.

Taking care of presbyopia with reading glasses

There are those who do not appreciate the use of glasses, considered by many to be a disruptive element of their look. But the truth is that, after a certain age, this type of medical device becomes absolutely essential for stress-free reading (without considering that, it must be said, they give the wearer an undoubted charme “intellectual-like”).

A very useful tool for taking care of presbyopia are, for example, pre-mounted reading glasses, which in contrast to custom-made ones are sold at a lower price:this advantage is related both to the materials with which they are made but also and especially in view of the fact that their lenses are monofocal, that is, they possess only one dioptric power. There is also another type of near glasses, called “office glasses”in technical terms:in this case, these are products designed specifically for those who spend many hours in front of a computer screen and who may therefore suffer the negative effects of so-called “blue light.”

Models available online (and otherwise)

Particularly online (but not only, evidently) there are numerous models that can be purchased, available in a wide range of colors and shapes, suitable for all tastes. Just think, for example, of what Occhiali Subito offers on its web portal, with the chromatic and stylistic variety of the El Charro brand or the classic and elegant shapes of the De Tomaso. Obviously, nothing prohibits one from relying on a different and even more economical solution, as is the case, for example, with the 2X1 eyeglass offer proposed by the brand ProntixTe, which offers products with frames made of very light organic material, aspherical, thin and unbreakable lenses and a high quality certified by Certottica.

The important thing, beyond the purely aesthetic side, is that the customer completes his order with the knowledge of how useful the eyewear will be for a better quality of life. Presbyopia can be a big headache, so why not take care of it with a product that enhances (also) one’s taste and personality?

Ultimately, quality, facial fit, enhancement of one’s look and comfort should be the features not to be underestimated when choosing the right reading glasses. Without these elements, it should be remembered, one could risk making a serious mistake.
