We met with the fashion designer Francesca Liberator and who told us about her collections, new collaborations and upcoming projects.

Tell us about your new collaborations:how did they come about and how are they going? Each collaboration comes from a specific intent and a need to communicate something different through my collections in an amplified way. The next one I will bring to the stage will be with Lineapelle, the international trade fair body for the industry. By confronting me with the properties and technicalities of the material by highlighting the specificity of use as well as the durability and tracking of a supply chain that 99.5 percent uses food waste and whose 72 percent waste is reused in other sectors. So as I said in last season thanks to my team wear with Erreà “fashion is a game to be won together”and I am a great believer in the communion of vision.
In the last few collections you also presented the men’s line:how did the public respond? In each collection I want to launch a must-have for men and after several seasons have a timeless wardrobe for him. While the woman’s is constantly manipulating for the man I believe in tailoring and iconic garments and so I am taking my time to define it as best I can. Paradoxically a men’s look has polarized the attention and sales of many women’s looks that obviously scatter the offer more. So I would say it has been very well received and I will continue to offer it.
What are you preparing for the upcoming fashion week? Do you have any news to anticipate? Next fashion week is expected to be busy with two different collections and important technical partners.
How did the project with Lineapelle come about and why is it so important to you? In fact, knowing the field for quite some time and being continually in contact with new generations of creatives through my role as a lecturer, I wish for clear and truthful messages to be offered in a field too often overwhelmed by the marketing strategies of others. I want the specificity and reality of a field that perhaps more than any other has lingered over time, in the uses and customs of societies and with uses that are often necessary as well as aesthetic, to be communicated so that in the face of knowledge anyone can carry out their choices independently. This is precisely why I decided to introduce 7 of my students from the Brera Academy of Fine Arts as the style office within the project in a FrancescaLiberatore x7 SCFFGZE in which each of them will confront the sector from the inside.
We know that you are often in Dubai? What does this place represent to you and what does it offer? Dubai is a strong study city from my point of view, socially, culturally, developmentally, projection-wise and capicity-wise. Constant confrontation with something seemingly distant from a Roman immersed in the history and realism of the countries she visits. Offers points of view and speed of implementation through undeniable resources.
Teaching:How are your courses going? What’s simmering for the future of fashion? We always bring a plethora of beautiful minds into the market, so I hope for a creative revolution even if in the post covid era the lifeblood of the younger generation seems to have been contained and locked up in an intimate and familiar security that often does not benefit renewal
Upcoming projects? With my family we have acquired the former San Michele Church in the center of Ferrara, with the ambitious intention of making it a place of Italian and international creative communion internal to this wonderful city. We are in a family of artists well known by now to the world of art and fashion that has always been involved also in education in when we strongly believe in exchange and generational change as well as in confrontation with the other and in human relations. It is precisely under the banner of these values that we will open our doors with a full calendar of events in which our friendships, knowledge, Arts, will marry different areas and alongside institutional figures and experts, as well as exhibitions of various neutrals, will open points of view and moments of beauty for all. In permanence surely part of the most representative sculptures of my father Bruno Liberatore, the dreamy paintings of my mother that have always characterized our spaces, and in turn my collections to allow an exhibition usability in addition to the parade moment with the possibility of immediate purchase.
